The next instalment in our hand-picked selection of cars we’ve sourced, inspected and prepared here at Lymm MOT Centre.
This time, it’s this 2016 Vauxhall Antara — one owner from new, a lovely local couple who have put their trust in us.❤️
Before putting it up for sale, we noticed a very slight judder on idle. Rather than simply putting it on the market and hoping nobody noticed, we wanted to do the job properly.
So, we stripped it down and replaced the clutch and dual mass flywheel, meaning its next owner can buy with confidence knowing this potentially expensive job has already been taken care of. 🔧
And despite carrying a Vauxhall badge, the later Antara is quite an interesting vehicle. Its roots are very much in GM’s Korean operation, sharing its underpinnings with the Chevrolet Captiva. So although it isn’t Japanese, it has considerably more Asian engineering heritage than many of the Vauxhalls from the era — and was designed to take on the likes of the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V.
This particular example is a one-owner car with full service history, and we’ve gone through it thoroughly to make sure it’s ready for its next chapter. It will also come with a fresh MOT certificate at the point of sale.

Well… she’s now officially gone to a very happy new owner! 🙌
The car was sold to a lovely young lady from the local area who was in a bit of a bind at the time and needed a car quickly.
So, rather than making her wait while we carried out some of the work we had promised, we got her on the road and let her take the Fiat straight away. 🚗💨
But here’s the important bit…
A promise is a promise. 🤝
When the time came, she brought the Fiat back to us and we carried out the work we had promised as part of the sale:

🚗 A DAY OF AUTOMOTIVE EXTREMES AT LYMM MOT CENTRE! 🇬🇧🇩🇪🇯🇵
You know it’s going to be an interesting day when a 1990 Hymermobil rolls through the workshop door…
…and then TWO Toyota Celica GT-Fours turn up. 😂
We went from “Where shall we park the motorhome?” to “Who’s just started a rally stage?” pretty quickly. 🏁
The Hymermobil was a bit of a milestone for us too — our first left-hand-drive vehicle at Lymm MOT Centre! 🇪🇺
And then there were the Celicas…
💛 The canary yellow one — a colour that definitely falls into the “love it or hate it” category. Personally, we think it looks absolutely brilliant.
🤍 And the white GT-Four, complete with its red, green and white Castrol-style livery — and this one has some serious motorsport heritage behind it.
The fifth-generation ST185 Celica GT-Four wasn’t just a sporty-looking 90s coupe. Toyota developed it as a genuine rally weapon, with four-wheel drive and a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine. It made its World Rally Championship debut in 1992 and went on to win three consecutive drivers’ titles from 1992–94, while Toyota took the manufacturers’ championship in 1993 and 1994.
And that famous Castrol red-and-green livery? That came along for Toyota’s 1993 WRC campaign.
So, on one side of the workshop we’ve got a 1990s home-on-wheels, designed for leisurely adventures…
…and on the other, two turbocharged, four-wheel-drive rally-bred Toyotas that look like they’re permanently late for a forest stage. 😂
